Andrea Marie (Nee:Winn) Edwards passed away on Saturday, February 1,2025 in Waukegan, IL. Born on September 10, 1958, in Kenosha, WI, at St. Catherine’s Hospital, Andrea was the beloved daughter of Birda Mae (Montgomery) Winn and Calvin C. Winn. She received her education at Tremper High School in Kenosha and later dedicated her time to working at the Kenosha Achievement Center. On January 12, 1986, Andrea married, Larry James Edwards, beginning a journey of love and partnership. Andrea will be remembered for her quick wit, along with her passion for shopping, dancing, playing spades and bingo. She also took great pride in keeping a warm and tidy home. An animal lover at heart, Andrea had a special affection for cats, often rescuing them and giving them a loving home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Birda Mae (Montgomery) Winn and Calvin Carmelius Winn; her brother, Christopher C. Winn; three sisters, Toni A. Winn, Suzanne Winn, and Marianne Winn; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace C. Montgomery Sr.; a grandson, Trevon Winn; and a son-in-law, Eric L. Phifer Jr.
Andrea leaves to cherish her memory her four daughters: Andrea (Ann) Fonder of Kenosha, WI; Theresa Winn-Finley of Kenosha, WI; Latisha Edwards-Gray of Green Bay, WI: and her youngest and devoted daughter, Gabrielle Edwards-Phifer of Racine, WI who lovingly cared for her mother for the past 20 years, standing by her side through thick and thin. She is also survived by her brother, Keith Winn of Boston, MA; sisters, Jacqueline (Nathaniel) Winn-Toney of Maywood, IL; Sandra (Winn) Hargraves of Waukegan, IL; Janice Winn of Texas; and Renee Winn of Kenosha, WI. She leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

A special thank you to Tenisha, Trus’sell, Tosha, Renee, Jackie, Brandon, and Jamie for their unwavering love and presence as they stayed by Andrea’s side during her final moments as she made her transition into paradise. Funeral Services for Andrea will be on Monday, February 17,2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Strouf Funeral Home in Racine. The family will receive guests in the funeral home on Monday, February 17,2025 from 10:00 A.M. until the start of service.
