With sadness but unwavering faith, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Iris Louise Coats who entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on August 17th, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri where she resided for most of her life, Iris lived a life rooted in faith, love, family, and laughter. Iris is survived by her brother Joseph Durham, children, Thomas Martin, Christine Arnold, and Angela Thomas. Grandchildren, Nicholas Niebuhr, Rachel Niebuhr, Angela Obrecht, Anthony Thomas, JB Arnold, Dylan Thomas, Joshua Thomas, and Douglas Arnold, as well as many dearly loved great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bruce Niebuhr, her brother Richard Durham and her parents, Thomas and Harriett Durham. Grandma, we will miss you dearly, but we rejoice in knowing that you now rest in the arms of your Savior.
