Daniel F. Godfrey, age 87, died peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia on January 23, 2025, in Granbury, Texas. He was born on January 21, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959 obtaining the rank of AN, and was stationed aboard the USS Saratoga. He was a firefighter in Bedford Park, Illinois, and retired after 28 years of service. He married his wife Carol in 1959 and celebrated 65 years together. Daniel is predeceased by his parents, Elmer Godfrey and Ruth McLaughlin, and his sisters, Dar Gore (Lou), and Donna Hren. He is survived by his wife Carol, his sister Diane Boyer, and his children, Daniel Godfrey (Kathy), Lynell Routledge (Jeff), Jim Godfrey (Laura), and Christine Gilbertson (Joe). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
