February 19, 1944 – June 17, 2024 Bennie Jane Thigpen was born in Pasadena, California, on February 19, 1944, and adopted by parents Ben and Ona Thigpen. Bennie graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1962. She married Ronald Neckar shortly after graduation. Ronald and Bennie were married for 30 years and had six children. Bennie worked as a social worker for the Texas Department of Human Services before her retirement. Bennie was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ona; spouse, Ronald Neckar Sr.; brother, James (J.D.) Garoutte; son, Bennie Neckar; daughters Angela and Mary Neckar (twins) and Janie Hooks. She is survived by her brothers Eric Garoutte and wife Becky of Hollister, MO; Francis Garoutte of Portland, OR; sons Ronald Neckar Jr. and wife Lori of Burleson, TX; Jonathan Neckar and wife Shelly of Boyd, TX; seven grandkids, and six great-grandchildren.
