James Robert Mitchell 54, passed away Sunday, December 29,2024 surrounded by his loving family.

James was born June 30, 1970 to Linda May Brown and James Michael Miller in Dallas, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Johnna Kay Mitchell, children and grandchildren, and many other family members.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.

James Robert Mitchell passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 29, 2024. He was born on June 30, 1970 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by his mother Linda and his beloved dog Rascal. James Robert is survived by his spouse, Johnna, six stepchildren Marilyn, Robby, Jason, Angel, Nadine, and Evelyn, his brother, Jerry, his father, Mike, Aunt Belinda, his best friend Ron, and his pets, Isabella, Daphne,Jax, DJ, Precious and Gizmo. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends. James Robert was a dedicated employee of Horn and Barlow for 27 years. Shortly before starting that journey, he met his wife Johnna and the two have been inseparable for 30 years. He was a hard-working husband, father and friend. When he wasn’t working, you could have found him fishing with those closest to him. A memorial of James Roberts life will be held at Possum Kingdom Lake in Caddo, Texas at a later date. James Lee Deacon was born in the upper peninsula of Michigan in the little community of Escanaba. He passed away peacefully at his home in Venus, Texas, Friday, November 8, 2024. James joined the Navy in 1987 and moved to the Navel Air Station in Lemoore, California (only because he thought it was near the ocean-(boy was he surprised !), working as an aircraft mechanic . That first year he went to Magic Mountain with friends and while riding rides, he met Pamela Meyer, and a romance began right away. They eventually married in 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After three years in the Navy, James was discharged and did various occupations. He then went back to school and got his AA as an HVAC mechanic. He was hired on with a private residential HVAC company as a HVAC mechanic in California. He and Pamela have many friends from their years in California, but when they got an opportunity to move to Texas six years ago because of an HVAC opening in Dallas, they happily made the move to a country home in Venus. He was employed by a variety of companies but eventually landed back at Almcoe as a field supervisor, and has been there ever since. James was a highly appreciated, knowledgeable, hard working employee at Almcoe. Son, Jaron Allen was born in 1990 and baby sister Erica Marie followed 13 years later in 2003. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela, and daughter, Erica, both of Venus. And son Jaron, of Houston, brother Jack Deacon and sister-in-law Melissa of Clarksville, Tennessee, and sister Jennifer Deacon of Greenbay, Wisconsin and mother-in-law, Nancy Meyer of Mansfield. On Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, looked into the eyes of Jesus. James was born on November 21, 1952, on a US Air Force base in Germany where his father was stationed in the military. During his school years, he lived in Lake Worth and spent most of his free time as an attendant at the family’s gas station near Roberts Cutoff Road. He loved tinkering with his car’s engine when his father wasn’t looking. In his later years, James became an icon in downtown Fort Worth. He would often sit on Nichols Street, waving to cars passing by. His loving nature led to a great outpouring of compassion from regular commuters and local residents who would often stop to talk with him, make sure he was doing okay, or ask if he needed anything. Diana Snyder was his greatest champion, caregiver, and friend. She would often remind him how much the community loved him, and he would reply, “I’m just a bump in the road.” James was a constant source of encouragement and inspiration for his daughter Josie. He loved her dearly and always encouraged her to stay positive and courageous. James is preceded in death by his parents, William Harrison Fothergill and Emily Ann Owen Fothergill. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Josie Tiscareno, and her husband Fernando Tiscareno, as well as his grandchildren Ariel, Iris, Joslyn, and Rachael. James quoted, “I’ll fight the good fight,” referencing the Bible verse, “Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called.” (1 Timothy 6:12)
